Description
Leakage oils promote the formation of bacteria, allow deposits on machines and workpieces, lead to the formation of oil mist and reduce the cooling capacity as well as the oxygen uptake of the emulsion. The consequences are: increased disposal costs, corrosion, bacterial infestation, unpleasant odours, poorer cooling effect, skin problems, etc.
The belt skimmer offers the solution to remove the oil that has settled on the emulsion surface. By using self-cleaning, oil-promoting special belts, the leakage oil is removed from the surface and wiped off in the unit. Neither filters nor microporous membranes are needed. This reduces operating and follow-up costs. The belt skimmer has an oil separation device and guarantees a tramp oil separation of up to 90%.
The belt skimmer is mounted above the liquid tank by means of a magnetic plate, preferably on the side opposite the liquid inlet. The base plate of the drive unit must be mounted approximately 300 mm above the highest liquid level. The hose is attached to the outlet connection, which is directed into a settling tank.
The belt skimmer can be used in continuous operation or controlled with a timer. It is recommended to use the unit while the machine tool is in operation.
The belt moves through the floating oil film and separates it from the liquid. Inside the unit, the oil is stripped off and flows into a collection container outside the machine.
